    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is roleplaying in such a way that it removes options for other people to react to the story you have presented to them. By removing their power to react, you are hurting their roleplay experience. You need to leave the story open ended enough

Nenar Hinyataure is of both Elvish and Human descent. Her great great great grandfather was a Human. Her other ancestors were all elves, largely Wood Elves, though far back in the family there were several High Elf members. Because of their human ancestor, Nenar has a shorter lifespan than most elves would normally have. Her human ancestry also caused her to have lighter coloring than is normal for a Wood Elf. She grew up as a nomad, raised by her older sister after the deaths of her family in the wars between the Holy Orenian Empire and the Coalition. They traveled around the different Elvish nations in Atlas, seeking peace. Due to the continuous wars, they were unable to settle in one area. Nenar learned much about swordplay and archery out of necessity. Her sister taught her many survival skills. When she reached the age of 19, Nenar brought her sister, who was now 342 years of age, to Irrinor to settle and live in peace. Nenar left then, wanting to continue her nomadic lifestyle. She has been wandering around Atlas by herself for 4 years. She has no desire to settle in a city. She wants to see the world.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
