In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming is using out of character knowledge in an IC context despite the character having no plausible way or method of obtaining the information they know OOCly, let alone utilising it. An example would be: Bob is in the next town over from Jake.
In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when one emotes an action that forces the other character to oblige with a certain outcome, giving them no chance to react fairly or within reason. It limits their choice of reaction. An example would be: Bob stabs Tim through the heart, ki

One would note that, given the generally humble attitude of the elf, that Eydis hailed from a background that served itself poorly in terms of economic and financial status. While this is true, and she was not born to the wealthiest of families or the wisest, it certainly managed to elevate her sense of self-preservation and spending; caution was one thing always stressed to her, materialism especially forbidden in her family culture. Eydis grew up with two older brothers, who both mimicked their mother in terms of being mellow and eloquent; they grew up to be what one would expect of a high elf. Soft-spoken, mannered, and cultured. Eydis, on the other hand, was far more outdoorsy and took after her father’s brash attitude; blunt. Knowing fully well that high elves were not naturally suited for combat, Eydis turned her nose towards combative activity and kept to her sharp tongue, accompanied by a particular interest in the medical field. Her parents had once dwelled in the borders of the Dominion of Malin; though the high elves moved several times, thus meaning that Eydis herself grew up in a rather fluid setting, seeing as it changed multiple times. She grew older and more bored of the same site after they had eventually settled. At the young age of twenty, she decided to flee; not out of hatred for her family, nor out of frustration, though merely boredom and the monotonous nature of her life. That is the condensed tale of her story; she now simply travels and lurks around many areas, consistently intrigued and in search of entertainment.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

((How does your character respond? Please ensure your response is at least six sentences long, and uses at least two actions.))

"Oh, I just, uh…" The traveler stutters, tensing up. They eye the crone, then back outside the shack. For a moment, the air thickens with anticipation, until…
