Mayumi Iekami was born and raised in Yong Ping to a caring mother and hardworking father. Her mother stayed at home and took care of the family while her father was in the military. They lived close to their relatives outside the city of the Jade State. Mayumi grew up with an older brother and sister and had a close relationship with the two. She often helped her mother with housework and other daily chores if she wasn't outside playing with her siblings or cousins or studying basic education at home. Now she is moving with her aunt to join her relatives in Oren after the passing of her parents and her own siblings going on their own separate journeys.
Mayumi carefully stepped out of the boat before looking at the enormous city in front of her. There were so many sights and various attractions that seemed to be catching her eye. She couldn't help herself, but to stare out in amazement. She first decided to take a look inside one of the nearby markets when she was approached by a gentleman. She couldn't help, but to smile at his warm greeting. "Hm... That's a bit of a tricky question, now, isn't it?" She began to speak, poking at her cheek with her index finger. She pondered for a moment, before meeting his gaze. "I'm here for a fresh new start and to find some work for myself. However, I would never turn down the opportunity for an adventure!" She finished her sentence as excitement could be seen in her eyes.
