    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is the act of obtaining out of character information from an out of roleplay source and applying it to your character in roleplay. For example, if a friend messaged me out of character informing me that an event was occurring and I suddenly logged on and had my character who wasn't involved suddenly know about it, that would be metagaming.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is the act of having your character perform overpowered or unfair actions. For example, If I had my character cause extreme physical harm to another character without asking the user if they were okay with it or my character not having the strength to do so, that would be powergaming.

Mayumi carefully stepped out of the boat before looking at the enormous city in front of her. There were so many sights and various attractions that seemed to be catching her eye. She couldn't help herself, but to stare out in amazement. She first decided to take a look inside one of the nearby markets when she was approached by a gentleman. She couldn't help, but to smile at his warm greeting. "Hm... That's a bit of a tricky question, now, isn't it?" She began to speak, poking at her cheek with her index finger. She pondered for a moment, before meeting his gaze. "I'm here for a fresh new start and to find some work for myself. However, I would never turn down the opportunity for an adventure!" She finished her sentence as excitement could be seen in her eyes.
