    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I would avoid powergaming by making sure to describe my injuries and consequences during an exchange with another player. I would also avoid powergaming by making sure I don't emote for anyone but myself.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Metagaming disrupts fair roleplay because you're using information that was not gained in character. This defeats the purpose of roleplay all together because the point is to play using the characters knowledge and not your own.

Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I was raised in Norland. I am traveling to visit the markets." I say with a smile on my lips. As I pull my hair up into a bun I proceed to eleborate "... my brother is looking for a new water skin and I told him if I seen one I would get it for him." my hands drop to my sides finally. "I guess I don't exactly look like I am from around here huh?"
