You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

An awkward silence follows. Yralissa awkwardly shuffles in place, hesitant on what to answer. Her mom had warned her to never be too trusting of people, and with the life she'd led, Yralissa can't blame her. But now, her mom has retired, finally finding some rest from her crazy adventures, and it falls to Yra to continue their story, however she'd like to write it. 

A few moments pass, before Yra lowers herself onto the cushion, finding no harm in telling the old woman her story, short as it may be up until now. she'll fix that though, that's why she set out.

"I came into this world, not so long ago, a mere 20 moons, in the city of Elvenesse." Yra started her story. "My mom had been a great adventurer in her time, spending the most of it out on the road with her group of adventures. She always told me the craziest stories about those days." Yra gets all starry eyed, as she rambles on about the stories her mother would tell her before she went to bed, reliving the fond memories, and not noticing she'd began rambling and strayed off topic, until the woman cleared her throat. 

"Oh right, we were talking about me, not about mom. Anyways, she retired, found some wood elf she wanted to marry when she stayed in Elvenesse, and thus, I was born." Yra explains, lightly blushing in embarrassment from being called out on her bad habits. She quickly continued, as to not draw too much attention to it. "Never knew my father though, mom would never tell what happened, or why he left, but I'm sure he's still alive out there...somewhere..." Yra's eyes stray, as they glass over, debating the actions of her father for herself as she'd done many a time before, never reaching a conclusion, but always wondering. 

She shook her head, willing herself out of the depressive thoughts. "Anyways, mom thought I should also experience my share of adventures, seeing as she's too old now, so as soon as I became an adult, she let me into the world. I've been travelling for round and about 2 years now, finding all sorts of new adventures. New people, new cultures, new creatures, everything mom talked about, it's amazing and..." Yra kept rambling as the old hag regarded the enthusiastic girl with a fond expression. She was young, still far too innocent to some of the horrors that the world knew, but she'd figure it out with time, as she would continue travelling, collecting stories and experiences along the way.
