How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: You avoid powergaming by constantly grounding yourself into the capabilities of your and other people's characters. Immersion is the natural counter to powerplay, and so you should always remind yourself of what your char would, should, and most importantly could do in any given situation. It's essential to recognise no matter how beloved any char is, they aren't flawless, and have exploitable weaknesses. You will get hurt, and you will miss certain actions.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: It throws off the 'role' play aspect of the game through changing what your character makes their decisions off of. As soon as the mindset of a character is corrupted by outside sources, they become disingenuous and sort of separate from the source material (og idea). It also eliminates a large swathe of roleplay, that being secretive plots, surprises etc. Put most simply, having a time traveler tell you a certain horse might win a race you're betting on obviously makes it unfair for other players.

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Ildriunn wastes no time; his task is clear. Ignoring any questionable aromas of spice and citrus in the air, he reaches into his belt and procures a scroll. He eyes the room cautiously, scanning for threats and escapes. Eventually, he launches the damp paper across the room, square at the crone.

"I trust you understand why I shan't sit, witch.." he shouts anxiously, his overgrown, dirt-crusted fingernails tapping against the pommel of his sword.

After waiting for the old woman to complete her reading, he clears his throat a bit harshly.

"Coven Mother Olwynn, you are to surrender the corpses of, or innocents abducted, and return to Numenost, the Fair, in my custody to face justice," he demands, practically from memory. Awaiting her answer, he glances intermittently at the fringes of his vision - behind him, under the flaps of the tent.

He continues without awaiting a response, masking his anxiety with impatience. "It matters not what darkness you claim to wield," he states, his voice ringing out with a newfound vigor. "I stand for justice, and I will see it served, no matter the cost." He is, after all, the epitome of the human spirit - determination.

Hi there! As you can see, your app is almost ready! Just a few changes you need to make, but don’t worry - you are doing great!

Your roleplay sample is pretty good! However, there are some things you must change. When roleplaying, you can only refer to the actions of yourself. Therefore, you cannot include the actions or speech of the crone and must strictly roleplay your own actions and words. Other than that, it looks good!

Your skin screenshot is not loading, please try to upload a new one so we can see it!

You’ll be given 48 hours to correct the changes above. Once you are done correcting, please contact me!
