Orneth

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Rhaella’s sense of direction had not always worked out in her favor so, of course it would lead her into strange lands. She stood puzzled by the strange woman’s request but alas, if she wanted to find her way home she best not stroke the old hag into anger. 

Sitting, she began racking through her brain for an interesting tale, her life had always seemed like one that  was written out of a book. Ah, there was one time she had almost been trampled by her horse after it was spooked by a rabbit. But, that wouldn’t really be her “story” no no no, she needed something with excitement and surprise. Rhaella closed her eyes hoping to find answers behind the darkness. OH! How could she forget there was that time she had almost been kidnapped by a-. Just before she could say what she wanted, the elder in the room gave her a pointed look. Crossing her legs and folding her sweating palms with one another, Rhaella decided she would just start from the beginning chronicles of her life. “Well.. it all started when I was a small lass, my parents were old” she said that  last line slowly and grinned. “They lived simple lives, and such as I who found in my spare-time that the ways of nature nurtured me in a way no else could-”
