You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Vespera's face brightens, "Oh so you've heard of me? Wonderful!" He swiftly takes a seat, crossing one leg over the other. "Well, where to start? My humble origins? My ambitions? Oh how about a except from a memoir I've been working on?" Vespera begins to start pulling out an old journal from a small saddle bag.
Her face deepens into a frown, "I would prefer if you tell me without all the fanfare."
Vespera slides the book back into the saddle bag, a pouting expression takes form on his face for a moment. However, the pout quickly fades as he straightens his back. "Well, your loss. My tale is never the less amazing, even without my exquisite writing. My family hails from Nor'Asath, my parents were artisans by trade. Painting, poetry, and pottery were my parents' specialties. They made quite a lot with their talents and I was never for want of anything. I was their only son so naturally they showered me in attention and gifts. While I never got the hang of pottery, I was quite enamored with painting and poetry. They taught me everything they knew about their craft and expected me to follow in their footsteps." Vespera slightly slouches over in embarrassment. "Well, I didn't immediately. I have been exploring, expanding my pool of inspiration you might say." lowering his voice he continues, "In addition, I may have run out of the funds my parents gifted to me after their passing."
The old woman fixes Vespera a look of disappointment, but urges him to continue with his tale.
Coughing into his hand and sitting up once more. "Nevertheless, I plan of returning to Nor'Asath to continue down the path my parents set for me and reach a financial status that befits someone of my elegance. I just need to get proper directions back home as I do appear to be lost." Vespera laughs quietly.
