Axel Hawk comes from a poor family in Belvitz. His mother was a stay-at-home mother to keep watch over him and his 3 siblings. His father was a craftsman, who worked full-time, and made just enough to survive. By the time Axel turned 18, he separated from his family, and wandered into the lands of Atlas, where he searches for ways to make money. Axel is a bit of a troublemaker, and will not hesitate to fight anyone he sees for the sake of his next meal. Yet he wonders, is there more to just mugging citizens for a quick bite? As he turned 19 years of age, he sets out to find a purpose for his life, whether it be help to fight evil, or using religions, such as The Red Faith and the Church of Canon, to guide him.

They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
