You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"Well, if you know who I am, then you should know who my cousin is?" Bel asks, eying the Hag quizzically. "If you do, then please point me in his direction, so that I may be on my way.". Belfriede had no time for pleasantries with old witches. His ambition to make a new life for himself drove him to be hasty, and impatient. To this end, he is searching for his cousin, Grant. As his only remaining family, Bel hopes his cousin will help him.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: The guidelines provide the simplest solution: don't assume that someone else's character will respond in a certain way. I only control the actions of my character.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming in roleplay ruins the legitimacy of the story. For example: If a noble learns they are about to be assassinated, through out-of-character means, it ruins the intricate planning of the would-be assassins. The very interesting story of political strife has been snuffed out for someone's power fantasy.
