    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Having your character know/act on information they wouldn't realistically have.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Strongarming the story to your favor, assuming your character can do anything and everything (eg. "haha I'm invincible now because of my super-quantam arcane laser shields that totally exist!" or "My character defeats yours in an unmatched show of strength and skill, despite your character being canonically stronger and more skilled than mine!"). Basically, forcing actions through instead of framing them as attempts instead of a done deal.

*Melisander's eyes widen, startled at being hailed as such.* "Greetings, and be well. I'm here to see the sights, mainly," *they murmur, fiddling idly with their cloak fastening.* "Wanderlust, if you'd want a name for it." *They give the gentleman the beginnings of a warm smile, now that the hurdle of responding adequately is past.*

 

 

NOTE: it wouldn't let me upload my character skin in the character skin thing, but it would here, so it's attached in this category instead of the other one. For some reason the other one will only accept the various photos of dogs I have. Maybe it's a file size thing?
