Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Her eyes widen for a moment. "Hello?..." She said hesitantly, what does she mean by expecting her? What does she mean by that? But she didn't question it yet; instead, she sat down on the cushion, finding it hard to relax. "My.. story.." It took her a while to reply, processing her thoughts and emotions, trying to recall her past that she tried to ignore. "My father... has high expectations, thought that's a bit of an understatement..." She shrugged, her eyes darting away from the person in front of her. "He wanted me and my brother to be picture perfect, basically; every little mistake leads to punishment." She paused for a moment, looking anywhere but the individual in front of her.
"My brother got the bad end of the stick. A "troublemaker," as my father would put it. I heard that they're sending him off, and I couldn't just leave him alone like that..." A sigh left her lips. "So, I confronted both my father and my mother to send me off as well; my father didn't care, but I can't say the same thing to my mother." She shook her head. "I doubt I can find him. I left after my brother left," She murmured. "I just followed to guide and support him to the best of my abilities."
After a moment of silence from both of them, her thoughts began to spiral, and her curiousity has piqued. "Why did you want to know?" She asked rather cautiously. "What benefit does it give you by knowing my story?"
