Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Skjertald rests his back against the tattered tent, feeling along his back the stretched linen that is held by the peg behind him. He exhales, loudly, removing the ragged fur that covered the top of his head. He looks up, exasperated, for it had been many days since he had left the town, only to return empty handed. Nonetheless, he believed humoring this old woman with regards to his petty tale would relieve him of some bitter dissapointments.
”I set off from this town in hopes to make words with the quarrymen.” He grunts, "Only to find it crawling with vagabonds." He exhales deeply, moving his head back to rest on a nearby crate.
It was true, since Skjertald had set off from his northern home, he had been beset by logistical issues of a catastrophic nature. A foreman and a stoneworker, a great many structures were attributed to his name, however, his ambition became too large and impossibilities remained impossibilities. His near catatonic state moved him deeper into mania, so much that he had entered an old woman's tent unannounced and without invitation.
"Now what should I do? I have no stone to work and the client is expecting it done within' three months?" He asks, running his fingers through his hair.
"I know-.. Wait-.. You're a genius!" He says, clicking his index finger before wagging it happily infront of the old woman's face. "I'll hire someone to clean out the quarry and I'll start the dig on my own.. If they've got those ruffians there, no one will mind me.. Just.. Taking a bit of stone, right?" He says, his face twisted with delight.
Quickly he rises to his feet, backing outwards of the tent excitedly. "Thank you, thank you!" He says grasping his hands together.
