Katerin's ancestors once resided in New Reza. They gradually grew uneasy with their living condition during the Scyfling invasion and King Sigismund's eventual suicide in 1776. After the Three Months' War, they moved to a small settlement on the outskirts of the kingdom to avoid the chaos occurring in the capital. Years later, when the political atmosphere had settled, Katerin's mother married and had a single daughter.
Since her parents were often quite busy, Katerin spent most of her childhood either at the village school or exploring the nearby woods, where an unfortunate run-in with a bear spurred her to learn how to hunt. She grew to enjoy the art, preferring the peace and quiet of the forest to the hustle and bustle of the city. Before long, Katerin turned 18. Realising her affinity for seeking out adventure, she left the village to expand her horizons and earn some cash on the side to support her now aging parents.
Nowadays, Katerin travels the world looking for new trophies to hunt down and new experiences to write home about. Still, she does return home from time to time to check on her family and country.
"Ah, hello there." Katerin smiled as best she could. "Just looking to see the sights. Maybe find work while I'm at it." She glanced over at the bustling bazaar behind the gentleman. With a little effort, she could probably find adventure there. Perhaps even opportunities. One could never be sure. "You look like ya know what you're doing. Got any recommendations?"
