Avern'siol stepped onto the dock, his leather boots gently thudding against the boards. He inhaled, gazing over the area he could see. The city was quite a sight to behold, with spiraling sandstone towers and massive walls. The murky waves gently lapped at the poles beneath the dock, providing a salty tang to the air as he started down the path. People clamored around him, unloading docked ships and checking cargo. Some were heading to the market with him. Suddenly, a man with fine clothes emerged from the bustling groups of people, making his way in front of him. Avern'siol raised an eyebrow slightly at the hearty grin, but managed a small, awkward smile nonetheless. As the man asked his questions, the elf opened his mouth to respond, but was cut off by each new inquiry. He eventually got his chance to speak, his voice heavy with a thick, elven accent.
"Sorry, but none of those options seem to fit my motivations. Besides, I need to get to the market. Van'alya." Avern'siol's response and farewell was brief and distinct, and, before the man could say anything else, the elf had pulled up his loose sapphire cowl and disappeared into the groups of people moving towards the ships. The thudding of his boots were quieter now, and he kept a hand on his hood so the seaside breezes wouldn't pull it off. He wore a slightly vexed expression, his thoughts lazily flowing through his mind like the waters in a river. Damn merchants. Always in your face, always in your space. It's best to stay away, Avern'siol mused; the coppery auburn hair resting on his shoulders flickered in the smothering sun. Then again, I am going to a market. The elf sighed inwardly, staring at the expanse before him. There were shouts and yells flying through the air, and people were clustered in groups or pushing their way past stalls. Avern'siol sighed inwardly, setting his face before venturing into the crowded baazar.
Time to find those ingredients.
