You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Rann pauses for a second and his brows furrow as he looks around the tattered tent. "My story? Oh it's hardly entertaining," He responds dismissively, a smile cracking on his scruffy face. "I am, but a simple fisherman. Like my father before me."

He slips off his sandals before settling onto the cushion. Crossing his legs as he removes his pack off his back. "But if you are willing to listen, it's not a very long one." Placing the pack of supplies beside him with a sturdy thump. Rann let out an exhale of relief now the heavy weight was off of him for the time being. "Well. To get this out of the way, I believe am of mix heritage. Raise solely by my father on the coast of the Koyo-Kuni Shugonate. Mother wasn't in picture, but I was always told she had this calling. Never staying one place long, a free spirt. Even abandoning the family she made with my father when he didn't want to up root his life for her." He chuckled, one hollow of joy. His smile twitching before he awkwardly coughed. Regaining his composure. 

"Other than that. Lived a normal life up until my father went missing a few years ago. No trace, but his boat and his fishing rod. Since then... I don't know." Rann paused his rambling, looking down at the tarp flooring. "I just been adrift on that same boat. Traveling. Searching for some purpose in life." 

Rann looked up back at the old croon. His next words spoken in a whisper, "Do... I have a purpose?"
