Shiki grew up with his mother, father, sister, brother, and best friend. For almost four years Shiki and his family traveled across the world, looking for a place to stay permanently. Shiki's birth place was unknown, seeing as he was born on the road. Settling down in Sutica they opened up a herb and pottery shop. Shiki and his sister would go out into the mountains, picking flowers and herbs for the shop. One day meeting their new best friend, a dark-skinned boy who walked into the shop, looking for something to buy. From then on the boy would come in every day, sometimes not buying anything at all. 

Around seven years later Shiki was making a delivery to a nearby town. Coming home, he couldn't wait to see his family. Nearing the shop, Shiki felt as if something was wrong. Entering the shop, only one thing was wrong. His best friend was gone. No one had known where he went. He simply vanished. It was if he never even existed in the first place. No matter where they looked, their best friend had simply vanished. Shiki believed that he was taken away by ghosts or demons, while his sister said pirates, his older brother told them that it had to be Orcs. Other villagers side with his sister or say slave traders got him. 

One year later Shiki decided that he'd find his best friend, his sister agreed, while their older brother who was around twenty decided he'd become a king. His sister went along with his older brother, believing he was really going to become a king and therefore have many, many guards to help. She'd also wanted to protect him encase of an attack. Shiki was an over-achiever just like the rest of his family. He wanted to be independent and train by himself, not wanting to be interrupted or have set rules by his bossy sister. She'd only slow him down, he thought. 

Going out into the mountains and fields, he trained all the time. It started with just an hour, then a day, then multiple days. He always makes sure to visit his parents on the weekends.
