    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is, when you stumble upon something like news, knowledge and other stuff outside of roleplay activities and then use them like: Well yea my character can do this now because of reasons and i also know all the mysteries known to men because....reasons.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you force a player to make a emote or when you, as a Human for example, suddenly posess the power of the gods so you can take town a fully armored Ork in unarmed Combat like cracking open a peanut

"Ah good day Sire, i have come here to find all the precious things this Land has to Offer." Cyn would say with a smile on his face. "Oh I forgot. Me name is Cyn, Cyn Waldfled. It is a honour to meet you Sire."

Cyn would hold out his Hand, hoping the Man would shake it. (I just assume he does shake it) Cyn  then would ask the Man. "Do you live here? Do you have a Shop at this Bazaar too? What do you sell? I would like to find some new ingredients for my food Experiments!".

He would really ask this stranger a hole in his head, Cyn seems really courious about the new things he might find at the Bazaar, he is constantly looking around with a amazed look on his face, sometimes even ignoring the Man completely.
