Nerithana(Neri) had a normal childhood. She was raised by her mother(Saida Syllen, now Saida Fae) and father(Zaos Fae), occasionally seeing her older brother(Faelar Fae).  She was born and raised in Caras y Tennallar. She was a rather shy child, homeschooled by her mother, most of her education consisted of cooking, cleaning, sewing, gardening, english, math, and as she got older art. Occasionally her older brother stop by the family home. He always brought fresh flowers for Neri on his visits and she always looked forward to when he came home. The most social interaction she had before she turned 18 was when her mother would go visit a friend and they had kids. Those kids where almost double neri's age and eventually grew distant as they got new interests leaving Neri to play by herself for the rest of her childhood, causing her to develop a love of reading and sewing(specifically embroidery). 

During Faelar's visits the family would take a trip to the shrines and Saida taught Neri to lay some of the flowers her brother brought her at the feet of Cerridwen; while her brother and father laid skulls at Cernunnos shrine. Neri looked up to Faelar, her parents where constantly praising his kindness and bravery; most importantly to Neri was he actually made time for her. No matter how tired he was from his journey he would always be willing to play and teach her things he learned while traveling and listen to her stories. He was her hero. They even shared the same hatred of wearing shoes, and blind trust in people.

One day when she was 18, Faelar's visits stopped, Saida told her daughter he had fallen in love but his wife's family disapproved of the fae's. He occasionally sent letters and said he would visit as soon as he proved himself to his wife's family, at latest he would be home for her 20th birthday. That day never came. On Neri's twentieth birthday he never came, instead his wife came with news of his death. He had died during a hunt he went on as another attempt to prove himself. Zaos and Saida where crushed and decided to move out of Elvenesse, they couldn't stand being in the house they raised Faelar in. After that Neri started to adopt her brothers personality; his manner of speaking, the way he would act around the house, his hobbies. Shortly after her 24th birthday she returned to Elvenesse.
