    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Instead of doing, you must attempt. You don't get to cut off Johnny's head and burn down his village because he ate the last cookie. You ATTEMPT to stab Johnny and burn down his village because he ate the last cookie, and he will have a chance to attempt to defend himself and his family from my righteous wrath
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: It gives your character an unfair advantage because they have access to info they would otherwise not have, making roleplaying impossible. If orcs are doing a surprise raid on a settlement (due to stolen cookies) and you see that in chat and mount a defense when your character would otherwise not know it was happening, that ruins everyone else's roleplay. When you roleplay, you play the life of a character, and part of life is not knowing everything

Physical Description: 6ft3. green eyes. Purple skin with tusks and usually goes shirtless with a pair of kacky shorts.
Roleplay Scenario:

  • Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. An old hag raises her head at the back of the tent, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—” Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

    ((How do you respond?))

  • I walk over deliberately and sit on the cushion. I've never been big for an orc, but at 6 ft 3 with decent bulk, I have to slouch to look at the older woman. "clan gone. Grimegore survives when the clan does not. Grimgore took to the road and found a druid friend. A druid friend tells Grimgore that green leaves have life and souls. Grimgore doesn't like killing fleshy people, so now Grimgore told him to come here and find an older woman who can give him farmland. She laughs for a moment and looks into green eyes. "Yes, I heard about you—the orc who found a new way to kill. And yes, I know a nice fellow who can get you to Numendil for a fee. Tell me what happened to our druid friend?" Grimgore starts fighting with his tusks after he wipes his black hair out of his eyes. "He's dead, but not by Grimgore. Druid old and now in forever sleep. The old lady nodded, "he was getting on in years," then she laughed," and I ain't far behind. Come, let's get you to your new home."
