You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
She sat down where the crone gestured with a small smile on her lips. "I've been waiting for this for a long time." she say with a tinge of regret in her voice. "It all started about 8 months ago, there was a watcher, someone in the shadows." her breath hitching at the end. "I'm not sure if it was a man or woman but they were always there, they never approached until they did. It changes everything for me and my siblings." she sighed placing a hand on her forehead. "We thought we were goners, that everything we had worked up to was done. It would be the final straw." she stood up and began pacing fidiling with her hands in the small tent, the smell of the wet moss and rotted wood filled her nostrils giving her a sense of comfort. "They attacked us, robbed us blind and left us scared. It took every sense of safety from us so we ran. We decided that the four of us should run somewhere anew and finally get the peaceful life we deserved." she said with a faint smile.
