James grew up in a very toxic and abusive household hidden deep within the human lands of Aevos. To escape the constant shouting and neglect from his family, he packed his few belongings in the middle of the night and ran away from home. Penniless and completely alone on the dangerous roads, he traveled for weeks until he finally reached the great city of Petra. In this massive capital, he had to quickly learn how to survive by blending into the crowded markets and trading quarters. He started bartering small items and collecting goods to sell to the local citizens and travelers. Now, he uses the bustling streets of petra as his base, determined to turn his tragic past into a wealthy mercantile empire.
The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

I appreciate the offer, but I prefer to stand," James says with a calm but guarded smile, politely declining the seat. He loosens his grip on his traveling pack and rests his hands where she can see them, trying to stay polite despite his suspicion. Her sudden words catch him off guard, making him look around the candle-lit shack with cautious eyes. "I come from the roads near Petra, looking for a fresh start after leaving a pretty difficult home behind," he explains, his voice softening a bit. He takes a short step closer to the table, looking at the old woman with a mix of curiosity and respect. "I am just a simple merchant trying to make an honest living, and I hope to build a successful trading business where I can finally be my own boss.
