Malentyr is the only child of Sylvr and Malthryn O'Thalion, birthed during migration to Almaris (SA 0). While he was very young, he would often "duel" with the other Mali'aheral children; to win you have to disarm your opponent and exclaim "ay'Larihei!". However, he was never any good at it. Oftentimes, he would storm off after losing and lay down underneath a tree in his local park and watch the clouds pass by. 

Sulking away after a particularly humiliating defeat, he retreated to his usual spot to find Caelor sitting underneath his tree. Caelor was another Mali'aheral boy, around the same age. Caelor had always bested him during their duels due to his larger stature, but the two had never known each other truly until that point. Malentyr begrudgingly introduced himself to Caelor and asked if he would watch the sky with him, to which Caelor accepted and offered him some of his snacks. The two quickly became good friends, and their families as well.

By school age, Caelor and Malentyr were nye inseparable; often sitting next to another during class and hanging out afterwards. Malentyr had no honest intentions of paying attention during class and frequently got reprimanded for sleeping during class. However, Caelor weren't a shining disciple either, as he would sneak food into the class and try his best to eat quietly; to which he never understood how loud his chewing actually was. Malentyr's lazy nature gave him an understanding of how to rig the system and figure out the easiest and least troublesome way to accomplish his schooling, enough to skate by.

Once reaching relative adulthood, however still living his human years, Malentyr had his innocence stripped from him after he heard the news that his mentor had passed during the Silver War between the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska and the Silver State of Haelun'or. This is when he released that life is not a guarantee and that the lives of whom he adorates must be protected, by all costs. His mind was made, and he quickly picked up the art of combat and begun tasking his attention towards learning the tactics of war. Malentyr was not gifted with determination, but he is always bound to find the simplest way to solve any problem set before him.

By SA 61, he is still yet learning the way of the tactician; but proves himself everyday through his studies.
