You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
Felden inspects the inside of the tent, before pulling up a nearby stool, ensuring it could support his weight due to its shaky nature. Finally sitting down, he inspects the hag, thinking to himself before speaking. "Well, where to begin... To answer your first question, I have come to this town in search of an old book, one that might be able to help me sometime soon in the future." He goes quiet again, gently scratching his chin as he choses his next words carefully. "Otherwise, there isn't too much to tell. I've been on the road for a long period of time, stopping into settlements to rest before continuing. As to...why you know me, as well as have apparently been expecting me, is a better question." He goes quiet once more and continues observing her for the moment, believing that if she wanted to cause him harm, she could have done so already. This was a fascinating interaction, and Felden wanted to see this through to the end. Cracking up a smile, he simply responded again. "So explain how you know me, and perhaps we can move forward from there."

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: A good way to avoid powergaming in RP scenarios is to avoid RPing out actions that leave no room for reaction. Stating that you shove or hit someone within an action does not allow room for the other person to react. As a result, stating that you are instead attempting to shove or otherwise hit the person can leave room for the other person to react. Perhaps they will be swift and the blow will not land, or perhaps the blow will hit its mark. A good rule of thumb would be to "attempt" actions when they involve other players.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming is an old plague on RP scenarios due to the unfair advantage it could provide. It can allow friends to communicate via third-party software to give unfair information. An example would be someone relaying to their criminal friends over Discord that a group is away from their base while tailing them. It can cause the victimized party to feel greatly wronged as their is no true counterplay for it, and it is overall a mood killer.
