Silternius was a resourceful child, but he was also very analytical. Growing up he asked a lot of questions, about everything. Some things, he was told, were better left unanswered, and some questions drew the wrong kind of attention. So he was told often times to keep quiet and to stop asking so many questions. And so he did, he stopped asking other people questions and started seeking out the answers he wanted to know. This is what drove him oftentimes to the library, where his newfound love of reading was born. He could travel anywhere in the world, see things he's never seen before, learn about things he never knew existed. And once he read every book in his local library, he branched out and began travelling the lands, looking for tomes and ancient texts and things of a curious nature. Magic, Myths, Legends, Folklore. This is what drove him to seek out the Grand Library of Dragur. In the future he wants to become powerful enough to be able to destroy evil wherever it lurks.
Silternius smiles and politely shakes his head "I come seeking something greater than all of these things... Knowledge. I come seeking knowledge that all of your wealth may not buy, and on all of your adventures you may not find. I come seeking knowledge that may, in fact, if you understood the power and potential of such knowledge, it could do far more for you than simply 'elevate your place in society'. Now, if you'd kindly point me to the Grand Library of Dragur I will be on my way"
