Edgar Ravenscourt is a young man from a family of servants in the Holy Empire of Man. He is quiet, reserved, and extremely polite, and also very truthful and intelligent. His family, though large, was often quite distant due to most working as servants around the kingdom, so he was unable to socialize much as a child with those outside his younger siblings. He began work as a servant at around the age of 12 in a small noble house and has spent the entirety of his life doing servant work across the Imperial Crownlands. Edgar aspires to work under the House of Horen, as he has always been quietly fascinated by the culture and life of nobles and royalty.
Edgar has had rave reviews from his previous masters about his service, which is said to be served "with grace and a lovely smile." Unfortunately, as of right now, he is unemployed due to a work-related injury at his last job, which left him with near-constant tremors in his left arm. Because of this injury, he has set off to roam the Holy Empire in search of new employment. Secretly, though, he also hopes to see more of the world that he was unable to before and absorb as much information as he can about life in high society. And so, armed with a backpack filled only with necessities, the clothes on his back, and a small coin pouch, he sets off on his rather unimpressive adventure!
Outfit Description (I was unable to fit this in the description box due to a text limit, I apologize!)
Edgar wears a butler's uniform consisting of a button-down shirt with leg o'mutton sleeves, a deep maroon vest, black trousers, and boots that rise to his mid-calf. He wears a continental-style tie with a green gem in the center- passed down by his parents- and the buttons on his vest are faux silver. His hair, which falls to just above his mid back, is tied carefully with a black ribbon.
The traveler has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—” Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
((How does your character respond? Please ensure your response is at least six sentences long and uses at least two actions.))
Edgar startled as he was addressed, blinking in confusion, but stepped forward after a moment of hesitation. He would normally be concerned how a stranger knew his name, but he had already been surprised by magic before, so he was more used to it now. As he carefully settled down in the chair, backpack in his lap, he hummed quietly under his breath whilst considering a response.
"As of right now...?" Edgar smiled faintly, a small dimple forming on his cheek. "My main goal is to eventually secure a job. Preferably one in the field of servitude, as that is what I am most familiar with, but I'm open to mostly anything right now."
Edgar turned to look out the window of the shack, his eyes gleaming as he gazed upon the world outside. "I have gained a new goal as of recent though." He turned to look back at the old woman across from him, the smile on his face turning softer, more genuine. He raised his left hand smoothly, placing it over his chest. In the dim lighting of the building, you could see it faintly trembling. Despite this, his voice was filled with determination as he spoke his next words, excitement lacing his tone.
"I want to see the world."
