Sylvio's heart skipped a beat as the unknown man spoke to him, causing him to stumble backwards. Catching himself, he awkwardly brushed himself off before muttering.
"W-What? Could you repeat what you just said?"
The well-dressed gentleman chortled, before repeating his question.
Sylvio eyed the man up and down, noting his expensive-looking clothes, and the strange look of emptiness in his eyes. Sylvio would clear his throat, before speaking.
"I'm just a traveler, Sir. Just here to see the sights, and, Uh, study what I can..."
"Oh! A scholar, I see!", the gentleman said heartily, clapping Sylvio on the shoulder with one hand, sending shivers through Sylvio's body. "What sorts of study? I'm sure I could be of some assistance in pointing you towards the right place?"
Sylvio took a step backwards, sloughing himself of the man's unnatural grip. "I guess my starting point would be some studies on the nature of magic? Or something like that- Oh!". Sylvio would suddenly snap to attention, an itch in the back of his head screaming out that something about this man was too strange. He didn't know if it was just the awkwardness of the situation, or something dangerous about the gentleman, but he just knew he had to leave.
"I, um, already have a destination in mind, so I don't need your help. Thanks though!" he quickly said, before readjusting his backpack into place, and hurrying off down the street, further into the city, leaving the strange gentleman behind.
