    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when an individual player takes themselves out of the roleplay and forces new and unexplainable knowledge onto their character in order to be more powerful/cool.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is similar to metagaming in that the end goal is to be more powerful than other characters or to be more cool than other characters. The difference is that metagaming uses outside knowledge to gain an inexplicable advantage while powergaming simply breaks reality to give the character more power or to abuse other characters. In both, the individual is taking the fun out of the game.
