Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

He looked at the old woman, confusion written across his face, but then he began to speak. “I am a former pirate,” he said, his voice rough like the sea itself. “Me and my crew, we were unstoppable, feared across every ocean. But then we met a great storm, one so fierce it tore our ship apart and sent us all to the depths.” He paused, his eyes clouding with sorrow. “I was the only one to find a piece of driftwood, clinging to it for dear life, hoping my crew had done the same… arrrrr.” The man sighed, his shoulders heavy with memories. “But then, I found this land,” he continued softly. “So I swam ashore, hoping to start a new life—one without the sound of cannons or the cries of the sea.”
