    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when a player has uses information outside the roleplay, IN the roleplay. For Example, if someone tells you on discord that another character is a traitor, you cannot roleplay that because your CHARACTER doesn't know if the person is a traitor or not. It is the unfair use of information that the player knows and uses in game, that the character him/her-self does not.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Power-gaming is when a character uses roleplay to seems flawless and uses the "spotlight" too much. A player that power-games will not let another player try to escape his/her grasp. A player power-games when they disregard anything the other characters try to do, because the want all the spotlight so that they can seem powerful.

Thalian slowly steps off the ship with nothing in my arms but a little satchel and journal, this is his new live, a new adventure, a new home. surely the guard is hiring, and there he might be able to learn how to use a blade, granted Thalian knows how to use a stick, but by the way Octaviano talked about a sword, it would seem.... well, heavy.

"No grand aspirations for me I'm afraid, I simply wish a normal live"

Thalian is debating if he should work for the guard or become a janitor for them like his father. He could also take up farming, settle down, and go fishing every weekend. Unfortunately, Thalian, wants to experience it all, and yet knows so little about this city. 

"Thank you, kind sir, for your marvelous introduction, and riveting question. I hope to see you sometime in the future", 

Thalian takes a deep breath and continues on, toward his adventure.
