    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is when you use outside knowledge to impact your roleplay when your character has no way of knowing that knowledge. For example, if I was told that enemies were gathering and planning to attack soon over discord, and then went and told everyone in roleplay to prepare for an attack, that would be metagaming because my character has no way of knowing there's going to be an attack.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is when you force an action on a player with no ability to counter the move or fail it. For example, if I were to attack someone with a sword by saying "I hit *character* with my sword and they die" that would be powergaming because they have no chance to stop my attack. Another form of powergaming is fully ignoring the consequences of someone's actions on me like if I was successfully attacked by a sword, failed to block but ignored the damage.
