    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming really is using knowledge that you as an OOC person would know that do not apply to the OC but yet you use it anyway.

    An example of such would be, if in the plot there person your OC is about to meet for the first time is a villain. Metagaming would be you as the person making your OC deny even speaking to them purely because you as the writer know they are no good even though your OC would have no knowledge to this.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is more or less doing something to another character without the input of the other. That is, if there was a combat and a human was to drop kick an ogre or even another human, without actual reason and allowing the other a chance to react, that is powergaming.

As the sun shone brightly in the sky, the only thing decorating the empty plains, Ibar would look around. The boat trip had been unexpectedly long and she was rather tired with seeing pure ocean just to find the city. She was supposed to meet someone in a bar somewhere in the city and she  was prepared to go straight there. There were many traders and vendors selling different merchandise and trinkets for those passing by but she wasn't interested. 

 

With an overly excited person rushing over to her, singularing her out of the crowd, Ibar was confused. Should she react with the same energy or should she stay with her mellow and standoffish self? Once the gentlemen got into hearing space, she forced a smile and replied. "I'm here for business."
