    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Using out of character information that your character would not know. i.e. knowing the name of someone that the player, in character, would have no way of knowing. Basically going beyond playing in character.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Playing other people's characters for them without giving them the chance to react. i.e. 'I kill you' instead of 'I attempt to kill you'.

Physical description:

Naro is a 21 year old male human & a highlander. He is six feet tall, with blondish-brown hair & blue eyes. Clothing wise, his default outfit tends towards a light-weight leather outfit that affords mobility while still giving protection from the elements.

 

Personality & Characteristics:

He is decently effective at survival skills, though has never learned how to ride a horse or tame a wolf. He has a knack for adventure (though it may mean danger in some cases) and enjoys traveling. He is reasonably intelligent and generally does what is right morally, though in certain situations will struggle. Music is a good pass-time that he enjoys. When it comes to the magic arts, he hasn’t focused on them much. Despite this, though, he has a desire for understanding and wisdom. He takes time to warm up to others that he meets and has only ever held a few close friendships.

 

Biography:

Naro was born into a relatively poor family of farmers from the Kingdom of Hanseti-Ruska. One of his favorite past-times is music; while living with his family, he would play music in the streets in hopes of  being paid by the passerby that listen. Eventually, Naro was able to accumulate enough wealth from his musician-ship to help support his poor family. Soon after this, though, both of his parents became sick when he was about to turn twenty. They both died from this sickness, and he, being an only child, was left alone. After becoming an adult, he sold the land that his parents had owned that was given to him through inheritance. He left home in search of adventure, traveling, and exploration, finding no reason to stay in the borders of the kingdom where he was born and raised.

Physical Description: Naro is a young adult male human. He looks Caucasian with blondish-brown hair, blue eyes, and white skin. He is clad in a light set of leather armor.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
