    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: There's knowledge that your character wouldn't/couldn't know in a roleplay scenario. Metagaming is attempting to use such knowledge. For example, knowing the name of a character who hasn't introduced themselves. Or knowing powerful spells when your character would have no knowledge of them.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is forcing your will on a roleplay world/scenario unfairly. It either deprives the opportunity of other characters to respond to your characters actions, or is just unfair and toxic. For example, I could create a character who is a mary-sue demigod that always insta-kills with his spells. Or I could emote, "Underwater Tomato stabs other player to death, and sucks his soul into his own body.", without allowing said player any chance to react.
