    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: When someone emotes their character's interactions having a certain outcome, not allowing their fellow roleplayers to emote against or with what they did. An example is Eric would swing his axe, breaking the man's shield, when the correct

Edward grew up in Haense where he how to wield a blade from his father who was a guard there. He became very good very fast, and his father began to send him to tournaments. He was a cocky lad due to his many victories, and one day, he decided to skip Church thinking he did not need God, and thought the Priest there was a fool. He was very disrespectful of the Priests in his youth due to him thinking they were very lazy. The day after, he lost his first duel, and cried for days. He was dumbstruck by this event, and went out drinking. This led him to get into a street brawl where he broke his leg. Unable to fight, or pay the doctor, he became a priest to make up for his sins. However, he still practices the blade, hoping to one day be as good as he was before, if not better.

Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
