    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using information that you know, that your character either wouldn't or couldn't to your advantage. If a friend tells me in person a castle's weak spot, I couldn't go to that weak spot in game acting as though I just randomly discovered it.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is a term for granting an unfair advantage to a character by some ability or item. Making some character unbeatable or without blemish.

Instantly Yudgurl was filled with the dread of engaging another person without the opportunity to carefully plan the encounter first. This dread was made apparent by a scowl on his face, almost a wince at the sound of the strangers face. "My business is my own... and just who are you anyway?"  he scoffed. He watched carefully as his harsh reaction had obviously shocked the would-be porter. "Perhaps I could get some information from this one..." he whispered to himself. He began again aloud "Forgive me, my friend, I've had a long journey and far too much distance between me and my last drink. Maybe you could show me to a nearby pub where we can get to know one another? Somewhere not so loud maybe..."
