You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I'm actually here to see you" Valk responded, studying the old hag, who happened to be his aunt. "To be completely honest with you, I'm a little surprised Cecil did not inform you about my situation - when my parents were still alive, they praised how sharp and meticulous he was in his work as a lawyer". Valk paused for a moment to figure out what his story actually was. For a man in his twenties, he lived a happy, albeit boring life. It would be fair to say that Valk had the privilege of having a comfortable childhood, but this resulted in a very isolated experience of the world. When his parents tragically died in a house fire, Valk decided that there was no real reason to remain in their village. Seeking Cecil's help, Valk tracked down his aunt. Although the old hag was now shrivelled up and cold to others, she knew one or two things about adventuring. When Valk's aunt was young, she ran away from home to be with the pastor's son, who, in a series of unfortunate events, died not long after. With a family the now shun her, the old hag was forced to travel the world, discovering her purpose in life one village at a time. Life made her heart cold, but Valk was hoping she would open up to him and help a kindred spirit. After putting his thoughts together, Valk was ready to respond, but noticed that the old hag was already on her way out. "Wait!" he proclaimed.
