You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Vertovia holds her breath for a second. Then she exhales and says: "Good evening my darling, do you have any... scented candles? By any chance? The place smells a tad bit... fetid for my taste". "I am Vertovia, and I am looking for, you see... a Witch Doctor. It so happens that I am in need of someone that could... cure me." Vertovia goes for her purse and pulls out a book. It transpires a magical aura, but a sinister one. She then speaks again. "I have here what I believe are important writings about occult knowledge of the dead and the power one could wield if they knew about it. I can't tell you where I found it. I just need your help. How much will it be?"

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: I should avoid powergaming by not using actions that could force other characters to have no chance to retaliate or respond. To avoid it, I should try to phrase things as attempts, having a way for the opposing player to respond to it, and in that way my actions could fail.
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Metagaming ruins the game because it breaks the immersion of the roleplaying, making the players feeling left out and like they have been taken advantage of. If using knowledge from outside of the roleplaying world, you could ruin the experience. Also, becoming suspicious of someone for no reason is considered metagaming.
As a standard, no one should break roleplay at all costs.
