Vex was the child of a herbalist, spiritualist, and dark elves, who were worshippers of Luara, the daughter of time. They lived on the edge of Iryalen, with no siblings to speak of. Vex is an only child. Vex had a simple childhood of learning to forge, appreciating the nature in the dusk and nightfall, and watching the sun rise as they went to sleep. They had a relatively good relationship with their family, and still speaks highly of them, and thinks fondly on their memories. As an adult, Vex met a lost human and immediately became interested in the rest of the world they had yet to see, speaking to their parents about leaving. They did not take it well, and while Vex still loves their family very much, they decided to take on adventuring headfirst and snuck out into the night to experience something new.
The traveler has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”

After making sure their hair was fixed after a particularly windy walk through the woods on their way to their final stop, this 'dingy town', Vex re-adjusts their bag and greets the woman with a smile. "Oh, you know," They say gently, politely, trying not to sound mousey, but not timid either. They then take the seat offered with a twitch of their ears, their bag finding its rightful place in their lap, and they fidget with the straps attached. "What a difficult question, I'd say ... everywhere!" They flash a shark-toothed smile at their own enthusiasm before sinking further into their stool.
