    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Using knowledge that your character would not have but you as a player do, to get an advantage over your fellow players. Like if you know a monsters weakness and act like your character would too.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Roleplaying as if your character's actions are always successful or having your character do actions that they couldn't do.

Valerie tilts her head at the man, then looking over his shoulder as if she was searching for something. "I'm looking for an ingredient I need. I assume this market has what I'm looking for." She stares at him for a moment, trying to read why this stranger approached her. "If you'll excuse me." Without so much as a look she brushes past the man fades into the crowded bazaar
