As Shiva looked around this beautiful city she felt small, a feeling she is plagued with often. It took a lot of courage to get on this boat and it seems it's gonna take a lot more to get off. It felt so real now. New opportunities and a path of her own. Something she dreamt about since she was a child. The bells of the ships arrival brought her out of her stupor as people whizzed passed her to get off the boat. After a moments delay she followed still taking in the beauty of the city. She almost jumped when a well dressed man almost appeared in front of her. As he spoke she looked behind her. ‘He couldn’t be talk to me...right?’ she thought trying to see if anyone else seemed to recognize this man. “Uh sir, thank you...”Shiva started out weakly before clearing her throat, “I’m here to learn sir. I wish to become an apprentice of an alchemist and I heard there was someone here looking for just that.” It felt weird to tell a complete stranger her current goal, mainly because it felt like a lie even though it was her true intent. “I simply wish to serve a purpose....” she started up again and was about to finish her sentence when she realized how sad that sounded, “A higher one... Not to say that I don’t have a purpose or that my purpose is not good enough...” Shiva began to nervously ramble until she noticed some of the people passing were giggling. “Ah...Uh... Thank you for the kind welcome.” She wrapped up her statement before giving an embarrassed smile and rushing past him.
