You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

Slowly entering the tent, Richard lowers himself to sit at the cushion, his eyes never leaving the old woman from his sight--"Hmm, 'tis an odd thing for one to be expectant of company, so far away, so remote..." Richard steadied himself, now fully sitting down, his gaze locking onto the hag's eyes, trying to figure out what she was doing here, and why he was here--"So... it is my story that you wish to hear? Very well... I am Richard Moore, son of my mother and father, Emilia and Henry Moore. Spent the first twenty years on my family's farmstead, tending to the horses and cattle whilst my siblings, my young sister and brother, tended the fields alongside my mother. At twenty-one, I did something stupid, pissed off the wrong blokes the next town over, got myself into trouble over something foolish, a woman of all things, just a local tavern wench, nobody of any notable importance." He stopped to chuckle slightly, before letting out a sigh--"Ah, but as it turns out, she was married, harlot had both me and another man going at once, of course he blamed me, and I did the same, and from there things took a turn, I took my young brother over to their farm, steal a chicken or two, break some fences, but they retaliated... I'll always remember waking up to the smell of smoke and charred barley, my mother's terrified screams from downstairs..." Richard stopped and composed himself--"She is no longer around... nor is my father and brother, they tried to extinguish the fire as it engulfed our home, to no avail. I found their bodies after the smoke had cleared, never found my sister, where she is now I dread to think, I can only hope and pray that she is safe, until I find her. And, that's what brings me here today, I've spent the last five years wandering from town to town, looking for her and, just last month I heard that I may yet find an answer here...So I have to wonder... if you know anything about this?."
