    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Well, you can avoid power gaming by not attempting to fully go after power to an extreme degree, what I mean by this is going out of your way to try and win in any scenario by any means necessary, even outside of there established things they can do, part of being in RP is realizing your character isn't (in most 99% of circumstances) A god, and has limitations, a human can not hold up the sun, or do a magical nuke attack, as things like that would kill the person, so you just need to recognize the limits of your character, and it about the journey of your character, the interactions, and enjoying life in the RP, not about winning, its cliche, journey not the destination, but that's what it is
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: part of RP is intrigue, your person is in there own world, and doesn't have a god feeding them omniscient information, so they cannot know everything that happens, to preserve the nature of the world, cool conspiracy's and secrets, you have to go off of what your character would do normally even when have no idea, you cant randomly shift or go in a direction where stuff is happening because of a "feeling" that's meta, you Don't Know. and have to play it out like you don't, because that's the nature of things, in a medieval setting, there is no internet, so information travels slow and by word of mouth alone and your own eyes, so act like thats whats happening, so meta can be avoided and normalcy and cool RP preserved

Roleplay Scenario:

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

*Asteryion eyes the woman suspiciously* "I'm surprised that you have expected me, I travelled from quite aways under little scrutiny, but alas, *he lowers himself to sit before her* I will indulge you, I hail from a foreign land, far beyond these shores, I was born the son of a sailor, and a mistral. *He pauses thinking* I have long harbored a great ambition within me, many lord own titles and responsibility, but are not worthy of the burden, So I strive to gain those responsibilities onto myself, and become the worthy lord, and forge a great legacy. *he smiles to himself* To that end, I have fought as a sell sword, served in fleets, and born royal edicts to far away provinces, I'm sure it will all be worth it one day.... *takes a breath* But, this is not my homeland, this continent. We shall see where I go, life has much more to show me I'm sure, I embrace it arrival with abated breath. Common folk grow tired of the status quo, kings, dynasties, Nepotism. they are waking up, I'm lucky enough too be a herald of the change. you just watch. I will lay a legacy none will forget.
