You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”
((How do you respond?))
Confused, I take a seat on the cushion. "Hello, My name is Sylvia. I've come to gather some supplies from the town, but..." looking around at the rotten shacks and poor conditions, "This town looks like it's in dire need of assistance, I've brought with me some rations and fur from my hunts." I smile brightly at the lady. "I'm not from around here, I originally came to search for a new homestead and I am from the woodlands, I've traveled for around 30 years and I think I am finally ready to aid others and find a new passion." I reach into my bag and offer the old lady a knot pendant made of birch wood.

How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Creating a character with unrealistic OP abilities is a lot less fun than being able to work from scratch to develop your own abilities to the extent, in the real world you are unable to fly like a god or control how someone will react to your question or response. I avoid powergaming by setting realistic expectations for my character and putting myself in their shoes in order to experience their 'Life' to the fullest
How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Setting your real self and your RP self apart and getting into the 'zone' when you become said character is my expectations when I join a RP.
