Yalitza

You’ve just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As you look around, your gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. You duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? she begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

"I've came here seeking answers and not to have a story time," She would slowly descend onto the cushion, she'd keep my voice steady despite the eerie ambiance. "Whispers have reached my ears, speaking of your ability with magic. It's led me to wonder, if it's within your power to locate my mother." Her expression, once characterized by a resolute demeanor, shifts subtly as the weight of her emotions becomes more pronounced. "Allow me to provide some context," she would continue, the cadence of my voice gaining a contemplative edge. "I was born in the Ashen Realm of Nor'asath surrounded by a lineage full of women and could not trace male presence within the family. However, shortly after my birth, my mother vanished from our lives. So when I was growing up I was raised by the other women apart of my family." She'd murmured softly, her fingers instinctively finding their way to her forehead. "My family suspects that my father who might of been involved in her disappearance," she explained. "I wasn't aware I even had a father before then, but then I wasn't aware of the full story; they say it's witches curse, this curse, they say, casts a shadow upon us, foretelling a grim destiny where no male offspring shall emerge, and where those close to us, the men we hold dear, are destined to inflict harm." She'd would let out a sigh, her gaze lifting to meet the weathered visage of the old woman before her. "My family suspects that my father might have taken my mother, unable to leave her after discovering the curse. While I haven't been very attentive to their situation in the past, I'm beginning to believe she might be in danger." she confided, a trace of vulnerability in her words.  "I'm searching for her now due to the haunting nightmares that persistently plague me. I can feel her pain in my dreams, I know she is still alive out there, somewhere. Each time I close my eyes, my sanity slips further. I need your help with this." Overwhelmed, tears would stream down Dibella's face.
