    How do you avoid powergaming in roleplay?: Metagaming is using your out of character knowledge with your character. So you know something is going to happen and you either prevent, or avoid the situation for your character just because you knew it outside of the roleplay.
    How does metagaming disrupt fair roleplay?: Powergaming is using excessive and overpowerful moves, such as a god would use. Like being overpowered in a video game, its similar in the sense that you use powers outside of the abilities of your character.

Aelin steps off the boat onto the docks and takes in the sprawling bazaar infront of her, "so many people" she says to herself.

After a moment a man appears infront of her and he smiles and says “Welcome!” “What brings you to this lovely city? Adventure? Wealth? Or some grand aspirations to elevate your place in society?”

 

Aelin takes in the man for a moment and lays her hand on her sword and says "Just here for a visit. What are you here for, do you sell something?" After she says this her face softens a bit, almost relaxing and remembering how to talk to someone kindly.
