    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: Powergaming is when you don't allow other players to have any chance of consequence on the role play that's being acted out. Example: 'James throws himself towards Tom, knocking him out - Tom hasn't had a chance to agree to this roleplay or take action'

Elijah Ruthren

 

Elijah was born 32 years ago. He had a monotonous childhood being brought up in a family worshipping The Church of Canon. His parents pushed him to study the faith and history in hoping he would secure a valuable position to help the family breakout of poverty. However, Elijah ended up turning to petty crime when he was in his teenage years, which included: thievery and robbery.  Despite this he still had a fascination with the old history of the world and the legends that surrounded it.

 

He continued to spend countless hours fixating on old books and scrolls. During this time, he decided he had enough of reading about wondrous tales from far away lands and that he wanted to be remembered for writing his own valiant stories. During that period Elijah had become immersed with the history surrounding the Crown of Renatus-Marna. His family always said they wanted to move to the city of Senntisten, if they could. He decided to leave his family home after long-thought, without any expensive possessions. With just his oversized patch-worked clothes and travelling bag. Elijah wouldn't know where his journey would end or if he could ever bring his family, but he now knew where he will start...

Physical Description: Elijah stands a little below average height and is scrawny. His hair is unkempt and wears oversized unfitted clothes.
Roleplay Scenario: The traveller has just arrived in a small town. As they look around, their gaze is met with run down houses and shops. They duck into one of the shacks, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the small room, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town?" She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
