    In your own words, what is powergaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: I just try and avoid very competitive situations.
    In your own words, what is metagaming, and why should it be avoided in roleplay?: It disrupts fair roleplay because it makes the story uneven and not fun.

Character Name: Raven
Character Race: Dark Elf
Character Gender: Female
Character Age: 19
Physical Description: Raven is a tall, dark elf with long, dark horns wrapped with withered vines, and long elf ears. She has dark, pale skin, and an outfit made of vine.
Roleplay Scenario:

Your character has just arrived in a swampy, dim town. As they look around, their gaze is met with shacks and cabins. It smells of rotted wood and wet moss. They duck and step into a tattered tent, illuminated by a series of candles suspended in the air. At the back of the tent, an old hag raises her head, “What brings you to this dingy town? She begins, then pauses to study your face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a cushion, “Tell me your story.”

I cringe at the foul smell of the town and meet eyes with the old hag. "Who are you?" I ask raising an eyebrow.

  • Please make sure to include at least six sentences in your roleplay scenario! If you’re stumped on what to add. I recommend saying where you are from, how was it growing up? Maybe talk about your parents? Etc.
  • Please make sure to use actions in your backstory/roleplay scenario. This is just to ensure we know what you are doing!  When talking about your character’s actions! Remember to use 3rd person!

Example: Judy stomps her foot on the ground. “How dare you!” she screams.

  • Your Physical Description could use a bit more detail! If you’re unsure what to add, consider including details like height, eye color, hair color and length, clothing style, and other distinctive features. These are all great starting points!
  • Please review our Wiki’s definition of Powergaming and Metagaming. Your response is not quite right. Ensure to include an example in your response. If you're having a hard time writing something down/or don’t know how else to word it, contact a community member. If you need help, please feel free to reach out.
