Hi, I'm creare8, or Falx Messorem, and I noticed I made a LARGE mistake in my application. My first application stopped loading correctly, so I copied all my large text boxes and placed them in a google doc. I later refreshed the page, and pasted my original entries, and I noticed that my explanation of powergaming wasn't complete. I really want to be a part of this server and this community, so here is my whole explanation:

Powergaming to me, is similar to pulling an all-nighter just to level up once. You put everything aside, and just try to do one thing. Whether that thing is leveling up, completing the grindiest quest ever created (seems like there's a lot of those), or just farming a boss for that last item you need, powergaming is usually unenjoyable, and ruins the game for you. When you finish powergaming, however, sometimes the game becomes more enjoyable because you can focus more on the storyline and just having fun than farming.

Done! Thanks for reading my application, and I hope to see y'all ingame soon!

Another LARGE mistake, I did not entirely paste my metagaming definition (reasons are on the comment above) here is my complete definition.

Metagaming, basically, is when you go BEYOND the limits in a game. Similar to breaking the rules, metagaming is more like beating the rules. Like modding, many indie games are able to be modded, so you can metagame. However, I believe metagaming on Minecraft is better than all other games, because all the mods and plugins are insane. The sheer amount of different htings you can add or change in Minecraft is astonishing, and I hope Lords of the Craft will be a good example of this.

I recently (about 1 minute ago) read the definition of powergaming  and metagaming on the LOTC wiki, and realized I was WAY off the mark on that. So, because I don't know how to edit my application, I will put the definitions on here (in my own words, for all you English teachers out there ? ) . Alright, here we go.

Metagaming - Metagaming, to me (now ? ) is when you basically help your character out by telling them things that they wouldn't know usually if they were living in Atlas (and no, praying to your deity so they can PM your friends on discord for some help with a boss is still metagaming ? ).  Some examples of metagaming is when you go on discord with your friend, a member of a group you are attacking, and learning about your enemies through your traitorous friend. Basically, it's cheating, and to hardcore roleplayers it is really annoying. Metagaming is using out of game help to upgrade or benefit your character.

Powergaming - Poweremoting, also known as powergaming, is when you make your character do something that is basically impossible for them. For example, my character Falx Messorem is an assassin. As such I have little to no magic abilities, aside from basic ones such as blinding or other assassin magics. If I made my character summon a meteor or shoot a fireball, that would be a great example of poweremoting. Whether I'm poweremoting or not is really easy for me to determine, as I just have to think if I could possibly do the thing in real life, albeit with better speed and slightly better strength. I could not backflip off a cliff and survive, but I probably could backstab an orc and run away after.

Ok, finally done. Thanks for reading my application and my endless legions of comments, and I hope be able to play LOTC soon ? .

Hi friend, I see you made your comments above so it is great you have a forum account now! However the edits you have to make are a bit too large and confusing for just comments so I am going to have you remake your application and move this to

xD66w6G.png

For when you are already the best, who bothers with daggers or poisons? Silently ending his victims anywhere and anytime, in the dead of night, or in the middle of the day, he became feared by all.

As such I have little to no magic abilities, aside from basic ones such as blinding or other assassin magics.

-Currently your character is bordering power gaming. I recommend refining his strengths and weaknesses. A character on LoTC needs to have a balanced set in order to play out well for the player of the character as well as the other players around.

he became feared by all.

-Currently your character is unknown to our wold, this may be difficult to claim.

As such I have little to no magic abilities, aside from basic ones such as blinding or other assassin magics.

stumbled upon his savior, a ring. This ring, along with bestowing the user with near-immortality, also showed him the way to escape the prison. However, if he ever took the ring off, or tried to destroy it, he would break the contract he made with the ring, forfeiting his very soul.

a magical sword on his back

He posseses a magical ring that increases his lifespan by several thousand years. However, if he ever takes it off he will break the contract he made with the ring, forfeiting his soul.
He possesses large amounts of dexterity and strength, fit for an assassin, but as a result of murdering people for many years, has a very low charisma level, and makes people around him uncomfortable.

-These aspects would not exist in our lore and include magical abilities. Currently you cannot apply with magical abilities or items. As you will need to learn and obtain these in game.

Your character can't be royal/noble/child of a famous person, an important character, come from lands other than those in the server lore or have any form of magical qualities. If you wish to learn magic after being accepted, you may find a teacher in game.

He is from a different continent than Atlas, a large continent by the name of Alagarin

-The Kingdom of Erix is not within our lore and will need to be edited to fit our lore, as well as he cannot wash up into our world as he would of already been living within it.

teleported into Sutica

-Your character would not be able to teleport into areas. Current travel is done by boat, foot, horses, llama caravans, wagon, ect

Farfolk also have a different appearance than your character does currently. I recommend viewing them on our wiki

https://wikia.lordofthecraft.net/index.php?title=Farfolk
