Rio is a well dressed merchant that hails from the venice-like city of Santegia. He was born in Atlas in the magnificent city and raised by a wealthy family of merchants. Upon coming of age, he inherited the mercantile ship and the business as a whole and since has been trading goods across the coasts of Atlas to make a sizeable profit.
Rio strayed from fighting completely, even as far as going in to hiding when Santegia briefly joined a coalition to fight the Northern invaders, as well as then later refusing to fight when another coalition formed to battle Norland.
Rio is scared of fighting, is weak and would rather do anything other than fight and risk his life.

She begins, then pauses to study their face—”Ah, it’s you. I’ve been expecting you. Sit,” she gestures at a chair, “Where do you come from? What do you hope to make of yourself?”
